CA, Inc. (http://www.ca.com/us/) today announced that it was elected to the Distributed Management Task Force (http://www.dmtf.org/home) (DMTF) Open Cloud Standards Incubator Leadership Board. The company will be represented by Paul Lipton, vice president of Industry Standards and Open Source.
“We welcome CA to the DMTF Open Cloud Standards Incubator Leadership Board,” said Winston Bumpus, DMTF president. “The election is a reflection of CA’s continued leadership role in the DMTF’s efforts to develop a set of informational specifications that enable interoperability between enterprise computing and cloud service providers as well as its other contributions to the DMTF.”
Others on the DMTF board include Cisco, IBM, Microsoft and VMware.
The members work on setting open standards for enabling interoperability between private clouds at both the infrastructure and platform levels. The "Open Cloud Standards Incubator" develops informational specifications for cloud resource management.
Lipton also serves on the Board of Directors of the Distributed Management Task Force, Inc. (DMTF), the Eclipse Foundation, the Object Management Group (OMG), and the OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards) Board of Directors.
