Syntext, Inc. (http://www.syntext.com) has released Serna Free XML editor as Open Source Software. Serna is a WYSIWYG XML editor based on open standards, which works on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, and Sun Solaris/SPARC. The upcoming open source editor promises to be so user friendly that even authors with virtually no XML experience can easily start working with structured XML content in a word processor like setting. According to their website,it is powered by the on-the-fly XSL-driven technology and provides a single point access to distributed documents. It reads XML documents and data from several XML data sources, blends this information into a seamless presentation, allowing inexperienced users to edit it like in a word processor and constantly ensures the validity and consistency in terms of structure and business rules.
