When: 2-6 November 2009
Where: Oakland Marriott City Center in Oakland, California.
The conference features trainings, tracks, sessions, speakers, and events than any other previous ApacheCon.The presentation will address topics critical to the business of Open Source, including community building, collaboration and open development, education and marketing, business models, and licensing options. This year's sessions will cover Apache technologies such as Axis2, Camel, CouchDB, CXF, Directory, Felix (OSGi), Geronimo, Hadoop, Jackrabbit, Jetspeed, Kato, Lucene, Mahout, Maven, Nutch, OFBiz, POI, Roller, ServiceMix, Shindig, Solr, Synapse, Tapestry, Tika, Tomcat, Tuscany, Velocity, Web Services, Wicket, and more.
10TH ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTES AND EVENTS
The ASF's landmark 10th Anniversary celebrations will culminate at ApacheCon, where the Foundation will open many sessions to the general public free of charge, including the 2-day BarCampApache, select evening social events , Birds of a Feather gatherings, and the Hackathon, where attendees can collaborate on various code bases alongside ASF Committers.
In addition to excellent networking opportunities, conference evening events include the ASF's Big Feather Birthday Bash, entertaining Lightning Talks, as well as numerous project-specific MeetUps ranging from Content Technologies to Web Services.
In advance of ApacheCon, Apache users and enthusiasts at all experience levels are invited to share their stories about how and why they use Apache technologies by submitting a "My Apache" video salute at http://tinyurl.com/myapache (http://tinyurl.com/myapache). In the weeks leading up to ApacheCon, the ASF will be awarding prizes for participants in a #featherchallenge contest on Twitter.
