Google already is the proud owner of a Linux based, mobile platform, Android and is all set to become a proud papa once again with Chrome OS . But are Android and Chrome too close in functionality to be taken seriously? Though Android received a tepid response initially, it has since been looked at seriously in the netbook industry. In fact Acer is said to be manufacturing an Android netbook. From what is said and heard, Chrome OS will be geared for netbooks as well. Whether it would be a feasible option for standard PCs and whether it will prove to be a formidable competitor to Microsoft’s Windows remains to be seen. But in the mean time, do you believe that overlapping roles from two Google products will be detrimental to their success? What's your take?
