Development Seed (http://www.developmentseed.org/) President Eric Gundersen (http://www.developmentseed.org/team/eric-gundersen) announced (http://www.developmentseed.org/blog/2009/jul/14/open-atrium-public-beta-code-github) that the first public beta of Open Atrium (http://openatrium.com/), an open source intranet package built on Drupal is available. The program has group spaces to allow different teams to have their own conversations and comes with six features - a blog, a wiki, a calendar, a to do list, a shoutbox( a twitterlike message sharing service), and a dashboard to manage it all. It is currently available in English, Spanish and Arabic with imminent German and Hungarian translations. Open Atrium 1.0 Beta 1 is available to download (http://openatrium.com/download) and in true open source spirit, the management is extremely enthusiastic about user driven additions and plug-ins to build in your own features and maybe have a little fun sharing with the Open Atrium community. Check out their blog (http://www.developmentseed.org/blog/2009/may/29/making-and-using-features-drupal) for more info.
