Ingres Corporation (http://www.ingres.com/), the open source Database Company has announced the creation of EasyIngres, an Ingres developer community product to help PHP developers easily create applications using Ingres and to simplify the transition from MySQL to Ingres. EasyIngres bundles all necessary components to easily create PHP applications which can take advantage of the enterprise feature set provided by Ingres. This of course cannot come at a more opportune time for MYSQL developers who are unsure about their fate after Oracle acquisition of Sun Microsystems.
