Ingres (www.ingres.com) is presenting a technology preview of its VectorWise technology which was announced last year.
VectorWise helps optimize database queries for modern multi-core processors. Early testing results according to Ingres conducted by partners and customers are in line with the performance improvements observed in the laboratory with 10X gains in speed.
The Ingres VectorWise project is a collaboration between Ingres, VectorWise, a spin out from the leading database research team at CWI of Amsterdam, a research institute in mathematics and computer science, along with ongoing support from Intel.
The open source company is now inviting interested parties to participate in the preview to evaluate how VectorWise performs with their applications by registering with the company at www.ingres.com/vectorwise/preview-program.php. (www.ingres.com/vectorwise/preview-program.php.)
