Google yesterday introduced a new programming language called Simple to promote developers to write Android applications . According to Google’s software engineer HerbertCzymontek’s blog (http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2009/07/programming-made-simple.html) , Simple is inspired by the fundamental and easily accessible nature of BASIC (Beginner’s All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) , a language that was widely used in the 1980s and 90s.Simple is an open source project for Linux, Mac and Windows users and provides access to Android mobile phone hardware, like the accelerometer, the orientation sensor, the phone, and stored contacts. Simple applications, once completed, can be sold in Google's Android Market. For more information visit http://code.google.com/p/simple/ (http://code.google.com/p/simple/)
